Hunan 1 in Appleton

I walked there but they were still closed an hour after their sign said they’d be open. I came by later and they were open by then so l got chicken and vegetables. The lady was super rude and the chicken was flavorless and watery. The vegetables were limp like they had been sitting awhile and the sauce was disgusting. I couldn’t finish it because l found several long hairs and l felt like I’d get dysentery if l tried. On top of all that the place was super dingy and they had boxes of food left out on the floor.Don’t eat here

Moved away haven't been here in 20 years. General Tsos is the best I've ever had. They used to give you pork fried rice, broccoli, and an egg roll in the lunch combo. But now just fried rice and General Tsos for 4.99 is really good.

One of the few restaurants in Appleton that the chef wears a mask correctly when making your food. Many restaurants have lost my business because of this but I was so impressed by the politeness and cleanliness that I had to leave a review.

Would give zero if I can. Attitude of the cashier is outrageous - classic chink attitude. as if she is somehow superior. If you can't fulfill simple requests and answer simple questions, you shouldn't be serving. The food is also trash. I suspect they probably pulled their food from a Chinese sewer because that's how sour and soggy their food is. Don't waste your time here.

I and 6 other people ordered food from Hunan 1 today. Most of us ordered general tso's chicken, 1 got chicken and broccoli, 1 got lo mein. All 7 of us got really sick. Half of the food that we got was still raw not cooked and the other stuff was very well done could not even chew it. We called in to tell them that we all 7 got sick and they would not do anything about it... said that we need to call our insurance companies.... like really. I ate a few bites outta mine and I had tho threw the rest away. What a waste of money! They were very rude about it. NEVER eating there again.

Best affordable and umami did for a hungry person.

Not impressed. Food was cold and tasted like it sat for a while before it arrived. Bbq ribs and bbq chicken had a weird, bright red sauce on them rather than bbq, and it tasted like cherry cough syrup.

This is how Chinese carry out should look and taste! Generous chicken portions, great General Tso's and $5.50 including a soda is a great price.Decor leaves something too be desired but clean kitchen appearance and nice staff!

Was delivered lightning fast on a Friday night, this was our first time trying this place and we absolutely loved it. Everything was perfect. Can't wait to try more of the menu.

This is a great place for takeout in Appleton. I liked to go here between CJ classes at FVTC and drive back to campus and eat in my car. The family that runs it started to recognize me, and they were so sweet. They always have tasty food at a great price, and instead of asking for tips they sell the dollar Vandewaal chocolates for their daughters for their extra curriculars. I love it.

Best Chinese takeout in the Fox Valley. Very good prices.

Fantastic food, very fast and very cheap! COVID regulations were amazing! Zero-contact pick up with fast and efficient methods. got the orange chicken with my dad and ended up eating his share too! Very yummy! Will definitely return!

It's been quite a while since I've been here but I was just thinking of getting Chinese again and I remember this place and how I actually didn't care for it lo mein was chow mein, and the chicken in the bourbon chicken was actually kind of dry like it was precooked and sat there for quite a while.

Food here is decent, and at a good price. Portions are very large. If you are downtown and craving Chinese food, it is worth checking this place out.

I had previously written a bad review but since then we have received much better service and food. We have ordered online many times and have gotten good food and great service every time! I love the Rangoons and lo mein!

Delivery driver vary, but they were always polite. the food comes super hot, their general tso chicken is good quality along with lo mien. their crab Rangoon is something else though, just mostly cheese I guess. this is something to spoil yourself once in awhile for. compared to the other places in the valley, this is a good one but this place has recently changed their menu pricing, but for the quality its worth it.

Dining here was the utmost worst mistake I have made, to say the least. The lady who gave us our order did not give us what we ordered, the meal was poor and not authentic and we wanted our money back. The spring rolls were empty, apart from an onion or two and the overall experience was very negative. The place looked very unclean, the table we were seated at was very sticky and there were open, exposed crates of chicken just piled in the back. It was very unsanitary, and the workers lacked quality service. The lady was highly argumentative and gave less than half our money back for our order. I wouldn't even let my dog eat the food, very dissapointing.
